View on ADB Avenue in Pasig City |
All right then, It’s time to start writing about Philippines itself, so as it’s my second day in Manila I might have some thought already. Not much to be honest, as to get rid off the jet lag, I slept for 22h so apparently the whole first day and not much happened today as I was mainly catching up with Emi, getting to know all the things I should know about the hotel and the area itself.

View form the Hotel before Emi's changed the room, now we can see 'City Golf Plaza', will posted later! |
So here are my first thoughts, Manila remains me of Bangkok, not only because of cheap yellow cabs;), but the whole infrastructure looks pretty same. The gap between poorer and richer people is bigger here, I would even say that Manila is mixture of Bangkok and New Delhi, where you get those exclusive hotels and shopping Malls like in Thailand but on the other side this crazy traffic on the roads with a high number of homeless people begging for money. I even nearly stamp on a small child sleeping on the steps just outside a big shopping center, seriously I didn’t see until I nearly touched him. He was just sleeping there obviously with a cup to collect money right next to his head, on very busy footpath to this massive Mall, crazy! Another thing is that people itself remind me of Thai, way they speak especially, but as I said, it’s my only second day here, actually first so I might be wrong! No other thought right now, didn’t have a chance to go anywhere outside the ABD avenue just yet, and it looks like I wont move anywhere further till next week. First of all I have to used to the weather and the time change, spend some time with Emi, and as we going to Boracay this weekend the earliest I move outside the hotel is next Tuesday. But to be honest, I don’t really want to go anywhere outside the hotel just yet, have to enjoy it, haha. I know it sounds sad, but it’s actually a one of the nicest ones I have ever been to. The studio we have got here got everything you need! From washing machine, slow cooker, to steam room and tv in the toilet. There is even office space so I can comfortably seat while I write this blog, so as I previously wrote, not what you look for as a backpacker, so with this line I’m sending me special thanks to Accenture for paying for that! By the way, quitting on Tiger Woods was a bed move; you will see his big come back in next few days;)

Our hotel at Night. |
Right so as it’s 3.38 am my time Emi should be back from work soon, I probably haven’t mention this yet, but she’s working on an American project in Manila, so the have work during US office hours I believe which means working night here. Well it’s not that bed until I stay very quite in the morning while she sleeps, or like tonight stay late so I won’t wake up to early. Didn’t have many chance to practice this yet but we can work on it. Probably next week will be a bit of challenge as I’m planning to move a little bit more which will involve waking up before 10am not after 3pm ;), but yeah we will see. For now it’s over, I have charged my camera batteries, put lonely planet guide beside bed so hopefully tomorrow will bring some more thoughts and pics too.
