Brief summary of what happened over last year, part 3.

A view from the Empire State!

Hi there,
What a few hectic days I had at work, quite pleased actually as that’s the plan. One more is not much especially when your goal is to save 1500pounds, but we will see. It’s looking got so far, even thou I decided to rent a room for some time. Haha, won’t be bothering friends, at least not for next 2 weeks…  Any way, I’m ok with accommodation for next 2 weeks, so there is no point to write about it now.  First comes first as they say, so let’s go back to where I finish last, Asia trip 2010, let’s finish it in few words. So before I’ve decided to do it, I spent a lot of time thinking if it’s the right thing I should do. You know, I finally managed to save some money, and was willing to go back to Poland, so maybe it wasn’t right to spend most of the savings in few months time just before I was going to move back to my mother land. So I had serious doubts to start with, but after some time I made up my mind, and that was probably the best decision I’ve made, you know, f*** the money, comes and go, and the whole experience can be describe only in one word; priceless.  Right time to go to bed, the work is killing me, an average of 80h a weeks is way to much, but is all about the money, can’t complaint!!!

I really miss that fella whenever I'm away!
Right then,  I’m back, yet another night shit after doing day one too, quite mad, brave at the same time!  So let me explain you, last bit I’ve wrote couple of days ago, probably had a longer break, but past out eventually and never got the chance to finish it! So this time will try to write some more, you know, with those night shifts there not much to do but you still have to stay awake for most of the time (did I say most;) ). So here I am, started like hour ago and still 7 to go till 6am! Then I get few hours of sleep to be back at work for 11am., happy days!
So that’s it for the introduction, wish you could have more time so I could be more precise, more schematic and so on. But with the amount of free time I get nowadays, still can be pleased with the few words I’ve wrote. So let me go back to the topic! I’m off to Philippines!, only 13 days to go, what a joy! So in this part will focus on everything after May or maybe September 2010, as it’s the time I did move back to Poland. So 3 weeks in US to start with for Christmas and New Year eve with Emi, followed with Budapest for another 2 weeks in April and few smaller trips inside Poland here and there. Or maybe the challenge I’ve done to cycle 300 miles in less then 24h, and few trips back to UK. Well, I wish I could do more things, but considering the fact I was unemployed for most of the time last year, I still have done well.

Down town!
NY during the snow blizzard!
So let write few words about US, what a country, especially New York, definitely place to be, or at least to visit once! I wish I could move there for couple of years, would be good, and even Emi would love to change Warsaw for NY. It might not be the cheapest town, but still after few days I feel there like being at home. It might be only me, but there is something about this place., which I can’t describe, you just feel it. So yes, US amazed be a lot, not only me of course, it was same with Emi. We both even started thinking how, or what to do to get a green card or working visa for some time. But let be honest, (haha, once I write this stuff they played Alicia Keys Song on radio, you know the one with jay-z about NY), no more green cards for Poles, at least for now, cheers US government! So we decided to leave it for now, but you never now, they say ‘never say never’! But yes, will definitely go back there again, next time hopefully for longer.
Us during the snow blizzard;)
But the whole US trip wasn’t only about NY, getting drunk with James and Viviane in those small bars in east village, or skating in Central Park with Hugh and Anna, but also going to places like Hartford in Connecticut to see Mark’s Twain house from outside only (don’t ask why), staying in south Windsor at my mate’s house (proper American small town I only new from tv), or visiting Boston and Washington.  Really good 3 weeks, no doubt for that, especially that we could hook up with people like James or Dave, or be in NY during the Christmas blizzard (although enjoyed it at the time I felt sorry for Hugh at the same time). And the Central Park, truly amazing, cover with snow for Christmas, what else can you expect!, btw I did even manage to have morning jog there couple of times, would be only better if I could have my bike there a do a little bit of racing on the streets out there! Still can’t complaint, as we’ve done most of things we have planed. I was actually planning to do a little cycling on James’s bike but the snow blizzard crossed out my planes, oh well, happened.

But as I said, we will definitively go back to NY, in the summer this time, so maybe in the future will write so more about Big Apple again!
Cheers!
